Travel Daydreams: Where We're Headed Next
Though our travel dreams for 2020 may have taken a seat on the sidelines, our passion for adventure is still alive and well. Now with the possibility of safe travel just around the corner, our mouths are watering for a taste of the open road.
Here are a few destinations that we're just itchin' to hit in 2021 (or whenever we're cleared for takeoff):
Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico
Great surf, seafood and natural beaches galore, Todos Santos is a tiny town on Mexico's Baja Peninsula, just north of Cabo San Lucas. While many are attracted to it for rest and relaxation, we have one thing on our mind—tacos.
Bend, Oregon
The land of craft beer, rivers and endless trails. Bend, OR is a hotspot for all types of adventure-lovers. Either as a stop on an epic road trip along the West Coast, or as a solo destination by plane, a trip to Bend checks all the boxes for a good time.
Hokkaido, Japan
Known by many as the Japanese Alps, or the Aspen of Japan, this island in northern Japan is home to some of the best high alpine skiing on the planet. Finish a day on the slopes, and kick back in one of the area's pristine natural hot springs.
Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Minnesota
Maybe it's because our Design Director Guin just moved back to her MN homeland and has been sending us amazing pics, or maybe it's because you can see the Northern Lights if you're lucky. From camping under the stars to checking out an amazing range of wildlife and epic scenery, a trip to the Boundary Waters will not disappoint.
Tofino, British Columbia, Canada
Perched on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, this small district has some of the gnarliest Winter surf in North America. In the Summer, on the other hand, it's nothing but long days, sweet hiking trails and mind blowing fresh seafood.
Bozeman, Montana
Small town vibes remind us of our home in Santa Barbara, CA. So Bozeman seems like a natural fit for the nature-lovers of Toad. Fly fishing and hiking are among our top priorities, but there are plenty of activities to keep a humble traveler occupied in the surrounding mountain ranges.
Greece
While no one's quite sure what the festivities may look like, Greece is celebrating its 200th birthday in 2021. If travel has returned to normal later this year, you'll probably find lively parties happening in some of the bigger cities like Athens. If you're looking for something more off the beaten track, try an island like Milos, Serifos, or Amorgos. Either way, the breathtaking natural beauty, rich culture, and hospitality of the people are just a few reasons to make sure Greece is on your travel list.
